Sticking with our theme of staying technical, a Rands Leadership Slack member asked, “What tools and techniques do you use to learn/go deep with your curiosity?”
Think about it like this: A team member is bringing you something to review. What is your job relative to this review? I usually think of my job as a soup taster in that I’m sniffing around… trying to see what is going on with this particular soup.
Being stubbornly curious means asking every single question you have regarding this particular soup—anything, and I mean anything, that crosses your brain that is relevant to this review.
If you’re me, you used to think, “They’re going to learn I don’t know stuff, and that makes asking questions uncomfortable for me.”
I don’t think that anymore. I just started asking questions. We’re not here for the review; we’re here for me to vet this project, and that means I am going to ask endless questions not only because I am curious but because this is MY JOB.
Yes, another Important Thing is ready.
